Early Danish teak coffee table with wishbone legs by Kurt Østervig.
PLEASE NOTE - this item has now been sold. If you're looking for something similar please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
This very rare coffee table believed to date from the early period of Kurt Østervig’s design career predates his association with Jason Mobler in the late 1950’s. It features his trademark ‘wishbone’ leg design that became synonymous with both his coffee and dining table designs with JM.
This particular item has finer legs than his later designs that were made for a larger market and were therefore actually flat packed for shipping – it also features two polished metal hotplates that were designed to allow users to place hot coffee pots on the table without marking the surface.
It’s in very good vintage condition with just minor marks to the woodwork and light scratches on the metal plates as you would expect.
