This is a classic dining set that was sold in the Conran flagship store in London throughout the late 1980’s and 90s. 
 
The set comprises a Fasem Italian metal and glass table with an angular design that is matched to a set of 8 metal, fabric and plywood chairs. The chairs, are by an unknown designer and were individual items that along with the table could be bought to mix and match with many other design formats the Conran store had available at that time. They are however, a perfect match as each have angular structures that complement each other well. At 180cm it’s a smallish table to seat 8 but the chairs have a small footprint so sit around the table well and give a real impression of space. As such it is perfect dining set for a small area.
 
Both the table and chairs are in good overall condition with some small marks to the frames at the back of the legs and on the foremost ends of each table support as shown in the pictures. The 15mm thick glass top is also in good condition with just light marks evident and no major scratches or chips. The upholstery is in excellent condition with no marks or stains and looks to be more recently added. It’s a soft fabric with a fine weave of white and black thread and as such doesn’t photograph well because of how the lines within it fool the lens. On this basis it looks like the fabric appears different at different angles on the pictures of the chairs but it’s just a trick of the light – all the chair fabric is exactly the same on each of the chairs and is best evidenced by looking at the chairs facing directly to the camera where the fine lines within the fabric show as horizontal across each chair. 
 
All in all a striking and also elegant set that would suit both a vintage or more contemporary setting.
