An impressive handmade 1970s acid etched copper topped coffee table designed in the style of German designer Heinz Lilienthal (1927 – 2006).

The table top has an acid etched relief/structure that is very reminiscent of Lilienthal’s craftsmanship and recognizable style and sits on an impressive and well-made tri-form solid teak base.

Lilienthal was a well-known successful German designer. He experimented with various materials including glass, metal, wood, copper, natural stone and concrete. He made windows, mosaics, wall decorations, tables and furniture. His designs utilised acid etching and hand patination to create vivid textured landscapes on steel and copper sheets and plates.

This particular table has no obvious signature or mark but is very similar to some of his earlier work, and in any event is a fine table in its own right. It’s in good vintage condition with some light marks to the top and base commensurate with age.
