Unusual and striking vintage Danish Mid Century cognac leather and oak daybed with floating design.
 
This beautiful daybed is by an unknown designer but is clearly made by a high end maker based on the quality of the cognac leather, the support structure and overall concept of the floating design. In addition the finger jointed oak feet show detail of quality and craftsmanship. It’s difficult to date but it shows elements of design of many other daybeds designed in the 1960s so is most probably a Mid Century piece but it could also be more modern and date from the last part of the 20th Century.
 
It's in good overall vintage condition with marks and patina to the leather as you would expect and I have tried to highlight this in the pictures. Each panel of leather has it’s own patina based on how it was used by the previous owners and this adds to its appeal as it creates a warm and inviting tapestry of colour that echos its vintage history.
