Hans Wegner Mid Century JH 505 'cowhorn' chair for Johannes Hansen - possibly one of the most beautiful chairs ever designed.
 
This is a very early example produced in the 1950's and rarely available. Wegner's design in the curvature of the back rest is both delicate and masterful, offering strength and sculptural finesse. This is complimented by the central detailing with the teak back rest showing interwoven slivers of horizontal rio rosewood.
 
The chair retains the original finish which has darkened to a natural and beautiful patina. The cane seat is also in its original condition with some light wear and very few splits.
