A brand new condition Klauser and Carpenter contemporary vintage style compact Easy chair and sofa set for Established & Sons.
 
Contemporary vintage may sound like an odd description but it’s very much what we’ve seen in furniture trends over the last 10 years. This is where furniture makers and designers take the look and feel of vintage Mid century designs and then reimagine them for the modern market. As such this Easy set designed by Andre Klauser and Ed Carpenter for Established & Sons fits perfectly with that ethos. 
 
The design concept is very reminiscent of Ernest Race’s R57 sofa in that it has the same low slung, back on its haunches look but with softer contours. It’s upholstered in a beautifully soft mushroom coloured fabric that is complimented by the dark plum metal supporting structure. Part of the appeal of the Easy range is that one can mix and match fabrics and base colours so can have the base metal supports powder coated in all manner of wacky and wonderful colours. With this set however, we have a more even balance of warm colours that still makes the set look funky but gives it a more sophisticated appeal. 
 
It's a compact set ideal for a small to mid sized lounge, a breakout area in a large dining room or for a large bedroom, but would also feel at home in an office reception area. The sofa is a generous 2 seater that would seat 3 at a push and the armchairs are relatively large and well proportioned. The seat depth is quite wide too which means there is ample space to dress the set up more with cushions to add a colour contrast and more luxurious feel if required.    
 
Coming from a high end show home this sofa set maybe 2 years old but is in unused, brand new condition; it literally doesn’t have a mark anywhere on it. Currently selling for £9,500 for the complete set the price therefore offers a great reduction on what is a virtually brand new item.
