A very unusual Danish Mid century minimalist offset side or coffee table made in oak, metal and smoked glass.
 
This is a very unusual and beautiful little side table that has many interesting design features. Firstly it has a definite cubist, minimalist look in how the metal supporting frame has been designed and secondly, how the frame has been offset to the square of the table top is also pretty much unique as I’ve never seen a style that combines the two before. There is then, lastly, a lovely scalloped detail to the edges of the oak top where it meets the frame, and all of which is beautifully enhanced by the use of a smoked glass insert to contrast against the colour of the oak.  
 
There is unfortunately no maker’s mark on the table but everything about the design suggest that it’s a high quality Danish piece probably dating from the 60’s. It’s in overall good condition with a few light scratches to 2 of the oak corner tops (as shown in the pictures) and some hardly perceptible light marks to the glass insert.
