Mid Century Danish teak ‘Bullhorn’ dining chairs and extending table
An unusual set of 6 Danish teak ‘bullhorn’ dining chairs and matching extending table to seat 4 or 6.
This table and chairs are not marked with a designer or maker’s label but are almost certainly Danish and date from around 1970. The style is very reminiscent of Hans Wegner’s ‘bullhorn’ chairs that were extensively reworked by a number of notable designers throughout the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. They are teak, with elements of oak veneer in the table top and also feature a stylish contrasting dark wood inset in the centre of each seat back. The chairs are very comfortable and are upholstered in a mid to dark plum coloured brushed cotton fabric.
The table easily extends with the benefit of a bi-fold interior extension leaf as shown in the photos. The middle extension, as is often the case with vintage tables, is a slightly different colour to the main table but not markedly so. Overall, both table and chairs are presented in good condition with a few age related marks and patina as one would expect.
