Mid Century Scandinavian bent wood and webbing chaise longue.

I’ve never seen another one like it, this mystery chaise longue hails from Scandinavia and has been expertly crafted in bent plywood, metal and canvas webbing. Using techniques pioneered by the great Danish designers of the time it’s a twist on chairs constructed in the manner of Bruno Mathsson but also echoes later designs for Getama by Hans Wegner. Unfortunately there is no maker’s mark but there’s no question it’s sculptural design indicates a great deal of craftsmanship.

It’s in good vintage condition and is both light and easy to move around as well as being strong and sturdy. It’s ideally best used with a back cushion to give additional support to complement the firm, but yielding light grey/oatmeal webbing. Essentially it's more a decorative art piece than it is an everyday lounger and in the right setting would look stunning.
