A Mid century 1960’s designed white and silver rectangular dining table designed by Piet Hein, Arne Jacobsen and Bruno Mathsson manufactured by Fritz Hansen in 1989 and a set of Danish designed Danform ‘Dolphin’ stacking chairs in oak veneer and chrome.
Please note: The table and chairs although shown as a set are available to be purchased separately if required – please contact me HERE to enquire.
This is a perfect dining set if space is at a premium; not only does the table and chairs complement each other well but the dining table can be ‘collapsed’ by simply unclipping the legs in less than 30 seconds and the chairs can be stacked away. Originally designed in the 1960’s this table formed part of a series of designs, (including the Super Ellipse table which can be also purchased on our website HERE) that incorporated the use of high pressure treated composite and wooden tops with the use of very clever chrome legs that clip in and out of place for storage or transportation. It was designed by Piet Hein, Arne Jacobsen and Bruno Mathsson and manufactured by Fritz Hansen. The designs proved so popular that they are still in production today.
Both functional and stylish the appeal of the designs also lay in the robust nature of the manufacturing materials. This table is a case in point in that at nearly 30 years old the white top, aluminium side protectors and chrome legs remain in very good condition. There are a few light scratches and marks as you would expect but nothing major at all.
The table is matched to a set of Danform ‘Dolphin’ chairs. The Dolphin series of designs dates back to the 1990’s and is a development of the Series 7 chair designed by Arne Jacobsen. It’s design however is far more striking with a sweeping back rest that is both eye catching and comfortable plus the recess in the curvature allows the chair base to be fully tucked away under the table to save space. The chairs have an oak veneer over a solid bentwood ply structure and stack easily into a small foot print. Each chair also benefits from rubber spacers on the underside that stops the chrome bases damaging the oak veneer when stacked. They are in very good used condition.
Both the table and chairs have their respective manufacturer’s label present on the underside.
